On this day of this month
two years ago.
The last day with him.
One month & one day from now
two years ago.
The first day without him.
On this day of this month
two years since.
Unseen but sitting with me.
One month & one day from now
two years since.
More present in his absence.
On this day of this month
for every year ahead.
Pausing to breathe in your spirit.
Every day of every month
for every year to come.
Alive beyond your death.
On some day of some month
in some year to come.
I too will exhale my last.
There will be no days and no months
and no years to track.
My last day here, my first day everywhere.
This marks the final day with my father, in flesh blood bone, two years ago. A month and a day from now it will be two years since he left flesh blood bone and was freed into spirit. This poem is my offering to him, to his memory, to his spirit so vibrantly present with me now and always.

Beautiful remembrance honoring the body and spirit of Jimmie Wayne Wylie. He blessed all our lives. With much gratitude for the gifts of our daughters.đź’•
